AgriStack Farmer ID: Benefits to be disrupted if not registered in May

Thiruvananthapuram: The Department of Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare has informed that all farmers in the state must register this month itself in the 'AgriStack Farmers Registry' scheme. This is a joint initiative by the Central and State Governments aimed at delivering various Central Government agricultural benefits to farmers without delay.
In the initial phase, AgriStack registration was conducted through Krishi Bhavans. Currently, opportunities have been provided for farmers to register either on their own or through Akshaya Centres and Common Service Centres (CSCs). At present, farmers who own land can register. Those who register will receive a unified Farmer ID.
Why is the ID important?
This ID will be mandatory for receiving Central Government agricultural benefits in the future.
All information related to farmers will be linked to this unified ID number. The Revenue Department grants approval for the Farmer ID after verifying land records. Therefore, the ID will be available only after the verification at village offices is completed.
The main feature of the farmers' registry is that once the identification and land records are linked, it eliminates the need to repeatedly submit documents for every new scheme. Through this, benefits and subsidies will reach the bank accounts of farmers directly, more transparently, and swiftly. In the future, by linking this with the Digital Crop Survey, insurance claims can also be processed rapidly.
How to register?
Farmers can register for the Farmer ID through nearby Akshaya Centres, Common Service Centres or Krishi Bhavans by providing their identity card, the mobile number linked to it, and land documents (land tax receipt/mutation documents). Following this, the Farmer ID will be issued based on verification by the Revenue Department.
Special camps this month
To include maximum farmers under the scheme by the end of this month, Krishi Bhavans and farmer collectives will organise special camps at the ward and panchayat levels. The Department also stated that special focus would be given to districts that are lagging behind in registration.
More than nine crore farmers across the country have already obtained their Farmer ID. The Department of Agriculture Development and Farmers' Welfare urged all farmers in Kerala to make the most of this opportunity to ensure the timely availability of eligible agricultural benefits.
