'No political conspiracy': ADGP Ajith Kumar submits probe report on Thrissur Pooram disruption

Thiruvananthapuram: The investigation report concerning the disruption of the 2024 Thrissur Pooram festival has been submitted. The report was presented by ADGP M.R. Ajith Kumar to the state police chief. It is noteworthy that the report comes five months after the call for a probe and at a time when allegations regarding the disruption have rekindled significant political debate.
The report also arrives in the wake of increasing scrutiny after media outlets reported that the investigation had made little progress even five months after the incident. This revelation has intensified the political controversy surrounding the event. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated during a press conference on Saturday that he had ordered the report to be submitted by 24 September. It was shortly after this announcement that ADGP Ajith Kumar submitted the findings to the DGP.
The report apparently rules out any possibility of a political conspiracy, instead attributing the fiasco to a lack of coordination among local police personnel.
Notably, M.R. Ajith Kumar, who was under scrutiny himself in connection with the incident, conducted the investigation and compiled the report. Details regarding the contents of the report remain undisclosed; however, there are expectations that its findings will be made public soon.
As political tensions rise, all eyes are on the government's next steps in response to the report's revelations.
