CBI issues lookout notice against Leena Maria Paul for extortion attempt

Kochi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) issued a lookout notice against actress Leena Maria Paul for attempting to extort money from Hyderabad based business man Sambashiva Rao. The action has been taken as she did not turn up for interrogation despite being served a notice. One of her employees, Archith, is also an accused in the case.
The accused tried to extort money by promising Sambashiva Rao that they would help him get off a CBI case. They approached claiming to be CBI officers and demanded several crores of rupees in return. The accused even misused the Delhi CBI office's number with the help of modern technologies.
Hyderabad native Manivarnnan Reddy, Madura native Selvam Ramaraj and Archith were arrested earlier in connection with the case. Leena's name was revealed when they were interrogated. The other two accused stated that Leena and Archith had master planned the act.
CBI had received crucial evidences, including mobile phone records, in connection with the case. CBI had raided Leena's beauty parlours and house in Kochi and Chennai. Sources in CBI claimed that she has absconded fearing arrest.
Earlier, Leena along with husband Sukesh Chandra were arrested in Mumbai in connection with a similar case.
