Divya Unni didn’t even express regret over accident of Uma Thomas, says actress Gayathri Varsha

Thiruvananthapuram: Actress and dancer Divya Unni has been criticised by actress Gayathri Varsha in connection with the unfortunate accident which occurred during the dance event organised by Mridanga Vision held at Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kaloor. Gayathri alleged that Divya, the lead performer of the Guinness World Record attempt event, did not even visit MLA Uma Thomas, who is undergoing treatment for severe injuries sustained during the event. The criticism was made at the cultural conference held as part of the CPM Kottayam district conference.
According to Gayathri, Divya did not even express regret over the incident. Initially, the media withheld the names of the organisers. She added that cultural performances have now turned into commercial ventures, and the Guinness event held in Kochi was part of this trend. Gayathri also criticised the silence of Kerala's society and the social media community regarding the incident, claiming that Divya Unni has become a victim of this commercialised cultural industry.
Meanwhile, Divya Unni, the main performer of the dance programme, has returned to the United States. Her departure occurred as the police were preparing to record her statement.
