Kannur: Actor Santhosh Keezhattoor has filed a police complaint after his son, Yadhu Santh, and his friends were allegedly assaulted by a group of unidentified individuals near Trichambaram Chinmaya School in Taliparamba in Kannur on Wednesday night.

According to the complaint, the boys were returning from a birthday celebration when they were attacked near the school premises. The incident reportedly involved a group of antisocial elements who beat the teenagers without any provocation.

Santhosh Keezhattoor took to Facebook to express his anguish over the incident, stating that his son was struck with a helmet and that his friends were also assaulted. The actor posted a photograph of one of the alleged attackers and urged the authorities to take swift action.

In an emotional post, he wrote:

“What a terrifying night. I couldn’t sleep. Even boys are not safe anymore. What if something worse had happened from that helmet blow? I can't bear to think about it. My son, who has shown more courage than me on many occasions, cried out, 'Achha, he hit me with a helmet. They beat up my friends too. Please come quickly and rescue us.' My elder brother Adhu and I fled to get there."

He further described the scene:

“When we reached the school, there was a large crowd. The boys were trembling in fear and taking shelter in a nearby house. Just two days ago, my son had helped coordinate an acting workshop at the same school, involving over 50 participants, including the District Collector. Yet, those who attacked these young children showed no regard for such cultural contributions.”

Keezhattoor appealed to the police to take strict action against those involved, adding:

“These criminals who attacked 17-year-old children must be brought to justice. The person seen in the photo is the one who hit the children with a helmet. Arrest him immediately. There are more involved. They should all be caught.”

Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
