Kochi: A disturbing video, which surfaced over the weekend, allegedly showing employees at a private institution in Kerala being subjected to inhumane treatment, has now taken a dramatic turn. The footage, which quickly went viral, depicted workers at Keltra in Kochi being dragged on their knees, forced to crawl with belts tied around their necks, and made to lick coins, sparking outrage across social media.

However, the individual seen in the video has now come forward with a revelation that the footage was, in fact, forged. He claims the video was filmed months ago during an internal conflict between managers and has been deliberately manipulated and released as part of a personal vendetta.

The District Labour Officer is set to submit a report to the Labour Minister regarding the matter. The report will likely include an investigation into the origins of the footage and the reasons behind circulation. The police are also set to question those who initially reported the alleged abuse seen in the video, as they investigate the matter further.

The management of Hindustan Power Links, which Keltro represents, has denied all allegations of labour harassment, asserting that the company provides all necessary employee benefits in accordance with regulations. They clarified that Keltro is merely an agent of Hindustan Power Links and not directly responsible for the claims made in the video.
