AA Rahim writes to Union Minister seeking to install Narayana Guru’s pic inside new Parliament

New Delhi: CPM leader and Member of Parliament AA Rahim has written to Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi requesting to install a picture of social reformer Sree Narayana Guru in the new Parliament building.

At a time when human conflicts raged and superstitions prevailed, it was Guru’s vision that led our life surroundings towards the light of renaissance. His sermons advocated the people to question caste stereotypes and attempted to democratise social life, the letter read. 

Rahim added that installing Guru’s picture in the building will serve as a reminder of the very pillars of Indian democracy - Equality, Justice and Fraternity - and will inspire the concepts of an egalitarian society.
