Vadakara: Coming down heavily against Shafi Parambil, UDF candidate of Vadakara constituency, CPM leader and Rajya Sabha MP AA Rahim has said that Shafi is the biggest political poison the state has ever witnessed. While inaugurating the ‘youth alert’ programme, organised by DYFI at Vadakara against the communal polarisation of the society on Friday, he said that UDF had unleashed an all out communal campaign against LDF in Vadakara .

“In Vadakara, UDF had displayed the dirty face of their campaign as they went beyond the usual political campaign and indulged in attacking the LDF candidate through fake campaigns. The UDF approach in this election was ‘soft HIndutva in Palakkad and minority appeasement in Vadakara”, said Rahim.

“Shafi is a political fraud. Those who should be exposed, could be exposed at any cost. Or, it would not be political activism. There was no exigency to organise ‘youth alert‘ in Vadakara when Mullappallyb and Muraleedharan had fought in the past”, Rahim said.

“It was the same team which had made a fake video of LDF candidate of Thrikkakkara during the byelection.  They had spat venom against many others too, in the past. Shafi Parambil is a person who doesn’t hesitate to do anything to attain his political goals. Even youth congress workers would vouch for this. Vadakara has survived many communal battles in the past. It will survive this one too”, said Rahim.

“Congress has become thinner as it has been reduced to a street goon leaning on the strength of Muslim league. It is only a weak goon who would boast about his strength by depending on the muscle power of league. Some of them are trying to give a new life to the congress by increasing the number of likes in Facebook. Such attempts would not going to succeed. I want to tell Rahul Mankoottathil and Shafi Parambil that people would denounce  your opportunistic communal stands”, Rahim said.

“Elections would come and go. But, the land should be there even after the election. DYFI is not an organisation which would open its office for election alone. DYFI treats election as a good stage for political campaigning”, he said.
