Kozhikode, Kerala: A trial run has begun at the toll plaza set up at Pantheerankavu (known as the Olavanna Toll Plaza) in the district, which falls under the Vengalam–Ramanattukara stretch of National Highway 66.

During the trial phase, no toll will be collected.  According to reports, toll collection is expected to begin after January 15. An official notification in this regard will be issued soon.

Once toll collection begins, the use of FASTag will be given priority. Those without FASTag will have to pay higher rates.

For cars, jeeps, vans and other light motor vehicles, the one-way toll rate through FASTag will be ₹90. If the payment is made via UPI, the rate will be ₹112.50, and if paid in cash, it will be ₹180.

Residents living within 20 km of the toll plaza will be eligible for a monthly pass. By submitting the required documents, they can obtain a monthly pass for ₹340 for light motor vehicles, including private cars. Those with this pass can cross the toll plaza any number of times in a month.

In addition, private car owners can also register through the RajmargYatra app for an annual pass of ₹3,000, which allows up to 200 trips through the toll plaza in a year.

Toll collection for the first three months will be handled by Maharashtra-based Hule Constructions Pvt. Ltd. After this period, a new tender will be floated for further toll collection.
