Elderly man gets 15 Yrs' RI for sexual assault on minor girl in Palakkad

Pattambi: A fast-track court here sentenced a 68-year-old man to 15 years of rigorous imprisonment and served a fine of Rs 2 lakh in a case of sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl. 

The verdict was pronounced by Pattambi POCSO Fast track judge Ramu Ramesh Chandrabhanu against Krishnankutty, a Manissery native. 

The incident pertaining to the case happened in 2023. After receiving a complaint, Ottapalam Sub-Inspector K.J Praveen launched a probe and submitted the charge sheet. Advocate Nisha Vijayakumar appeared for the prosecution in the case.
