‘10 victims, including a minor’: Complainant submits sealed cover against Rahul Mamkootathil in SC

New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India will consider on Wednesday a petition seeking to cancel the anticipatory bail granted to Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil in a rape case. The development comes after the complainant’s lawyer submitted certain documents related to the case to the Supreme Court registry in a sealed cover. Following this, the plea was listed among the cases to be heard on Wednesday.
A bench comprising Justices MM Sundresh and NK Singh will hear the petition. The plea was filed by the first complainant seeking to cancel the anticipatory bail of Rahul Mamkootathil. Advocate KR Subhash Chandran, representing the complainant, had recently submitted certain documents to the court in a sealed cover, though the contents of these documents have not been disclosed.
In the petition, the complainant has raised serious allegations against Rahul Mamkootathil. It is alleged that there are complaints involving 10 victims, including a minor, in connection with sexual assault.
