More cops involved, says complainant in cheating case against Monson Mavunkal

Kochi: Though the Crime Branch team has charged two senior cops in the cheating case against Monson Mavunkal, the list of Kerala Police officers involved in illicit connections with the self-styled antique dealer will expand further.
MT Shameer, the complainant in the cheating case, has come forward with additional revelations. He has disclosed that he possesses evidence against other police officers as well. Shameer has claimed to possess audio messages and information regarding financial transactions involving the implicated officers.
Earlier, the Crime Branch charged DIG S Surendran and IG G Lakshman as accused in the cheating case involving Rs 10 crores. However, Shameer alleges that 13 more cops have links with Monson.
Meanwhile, the probe team found that cops received the money through the bank account of Monson's aid and co-accused Joshy. Furthermore, the complainant has collected documents to prove that Monson had spent Rs 3.5 lakh to purchase furniture for a cop.
Shameer added that details of these cops were mentioned in his initial complaint filed on 23 July 2021.
