According to railway officials, these trains have been diverted to the Bagdogra-Siliguri-New Jalpaiguri line via Aluabari junction.
The train 06105 Nagercoil Jn.- Dibrugarh Special that passes through Kerala arrived at New Jalpaiguri (NJP) on 17 June at 4:08 pm.
The trains were scheduled to pass the area where two compartments of the Kanchanjunga Express were struck by a goods train between New Jalpaiguri and Rangapani stations.
Rescue and disaster management teams have already separated the affected compartments from the main train. The train, with the unaffected compartments still attached, has resumed its journey towards Sealdah.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to clear the adjacent railway track where some derailed compartments shifted. Large JCB machines were deployed to clear the tracks. Railway officials stated that once the track is cleared, train services through that route would return to normal.
