Vijay viral video: Did he jump off his bicycle fearing a bomb at the TVK rally? | WATCH

A dramatic moment from Vijay’s campaign rally in Kanyakumari has taken over social media, with a split-second reaction now being dissected frame by frame online.
The actor-politician, who heads Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), was cycling through a tightly packed crowd of supporters, a signature move that has become a recurring visual in his campaign. As fans cheered and ran alongside him, the atmosphere was electric but visibly crowded.
That energy suddenly turned when a supporter broke through the crowd and threw a ball towards Vijay. Within seconds, he jumped off his bicycle, and security personnel rushed in. The moment lasted only a few seconds, but it was enough to trigger concern. Vijay reportedly moved back into his campaign vehicle as officers formed a protective cordon around him.
What seemed alarming at first took an unexpected turn when the ball burst open, releasing flowers, suggesting it was intended as a gesture of admiration rather than harm.
Still, the internet had already taken over.
Clips of the incident spread rapidly, with many questioning whether Vijay mistook the object for a threat. “Did Vijay run away thinking it was a bomb?” became a recurring question across platforms. Others pushed back, arguing that the reaction was a natural security response in an unpredictable crowd situation, especially given how quickly supporters had surrounded him.
The moment has also brought renewed attention to the challenges surrounding Vijay’s campaign style. His decision to engage closely with crowds, including cycling through supporters, has drawn massive enthusiasm but also raised safety concerns. Previous campaign stops have seen similar crowd surges, delays, and even minor mishaps as people tried to get closer to him.
Despite the viral distraction, Vijay used the rally to deliver a sharp political message, positioning TVK as the primary challenger to the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
“It is not 4-cornered or 40-cornered fight. There are only two sides here: One is TVK, the other is DMK. Do you want an anti-people Stalin government, or Vijay, who loves people? That's all this election is,” he told the gathering.
He also laid out an ambitious governance pitch, promising tech-driven reforms, including a “Vettri Tamil Nadu” super app for public services, a Citizen Privilege Card to cut out corruption, and even a dedicated Ministry of Artificial Intelligence. Framing his campaign around systemic change, he added, “Every rupee spent on interest is a rupee stolen from your child's education and your family's healthcare.”
