A fire broke out in the 57-storey Salsette 27 building, located near New Grade Insta Mill on B A Road in Byculla East, Mumbai, on Friday The Level-I fire broke out on the 42nd floor of the residential building. 

According to reports, the fire department received information about the fire at 10:45 am and immediately began firefighting operations. 

The fire is confined to the 42nd floor. So far, no injuries have been reported.

Five fire engines, three jumbo tankers, an advanced water tanker, a breathing apparatus van, a high-pressure vehicle, a high-rise fire-fighting vehicle, and two ambulances have been deployed to bring the situation under control. 

Efforts are on to to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the building, officials said. 

Multiple agencies, including Mumbai Police, BEST, and BMC’s Ward staff, are on-site to assist with rescue efforts and ensure public safety.
