Trial runs for the Vande Bharat freight train have commenced in the Kota division of Rajasthan. On the first day, it achieved a speed of 145 km/h. Capable of traveling at a maximum speed of 160 km/h, its regular operating speed will be 130 km/h.

The primary objective is to swiftly transport essentials such as medicines, food items, and e-commerce products to their destinations. The train is manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. With 16 wagons, the train can carry over 395 tonnes of freight.

The one-month trial run is taking place on the high-speed corridor between Kota, Nagda and Sawai Madhopur under the West Central Railway. The train is also equipped with air-conditioning systems.
