UP: Class 8 student assaulted with iron pipe, forced to lick spit by classmates

Gorakhpur: A Class 8 student was allegedly assaulted with an iron pipe and forced to lick spit by his classmates, police reported on Thursday. The incident, which took place on July 26 in the Chiluatal area, came to light after a video of the assault surfaced on social media on Wednesday evening. Preliminary investigations indicate that the assault was in retaliation for a teasing incident at school earlier that day, according to a police officer.
The victim, a 14-year-old boy, and the accused—both minors and classmates—had a heated argument during school hours. After school, the victim's mother stated in her complaint that her son was taken to an isolated spot in Khutwa, where he was beaten with an iron rod and humiliated. The attackers forced him to lick their spit, threatened to shoot him in public if he spoke out, and the trauma has left him terrified, causing him to lock himself inside the house.
The assailants allegedly recorded the entire assault and uploaded the video online to mock the boy. In the footage, the boy is seen in his school uniform being struck with an iron pipe and then compelled to lick spit from the ground.
Chiluatal Station House Officer Atul Srivastava confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the two juvenile accused. He stated that the video is being examined and that appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings. Preliminary inquiries suggest the assault was an act of retaliation linked to a teasing incident at school.
