Trial run for Vande Bharat sleeper, Vande Metro trains to kick-start on August 15

Mumbai: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the trial run of Vande Bharat sleeper trains will start by August 15. A trial run of Vande Metro will also take place along with it.
He also said that the Ministry is making efforts to put about 250 Vande Bharat sleeper trains on track by 2029 connecting important cities and various routes of the country.
The Vande Bharat Sleeper is expected to cater to the needs of more passengers. Known for its speed and efficiency, the sleeper version of the Vande Bharat brand also ensures the necessary adjustments for a comfortable sleep. The trial run will continue for at least six months. He further stated that the construction of rakes will be increased.
Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be used as long distance trains. There will be 16 coaches, including 11 AC three tier, four AC two tier, one AC First Class. Vandebharat sleeper is expected to have better facilities than the current premium trains like Rajdhani and Tejas Express. The test run will be done up to 180 kmph, but the maximum speed of the services will be 160 kmph.
