New Delhi: YouTube on Friday announced an expansion of its YouTube Shopping experience in India, adding Nykaa and Purplle as new merchant partners alongside existing collaborators Flipkart and Myntra. The move aims to fuel the next phase of monetisation for the country’s rapidly growing creator economy. With shopping-related watch time on the platform growing by more than 250 per cent year-on-year, YouTube is scaling its Shopping Affiliate Programme, which allows creators to earn through content-driven commerce.

Machado was recognised for her unwavering dedication to promoting democratic rights in Venezuela and her tireless struggle to achieve a peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.

12. At least 7 killed as twin earthquakes strike southern Philippines, tsunami warnings issued

Manila: The southern Philippines was rocked by two powerful offshore earthquakes on Friday, 10 October 2025, leaving at least seven people dead and several areas damaged. The first quake, with a magnitude of 7.4, struck near Manay in Davao Oriental at a shallow depth of 23 kilometres, sending strong tremors across Mindanao, including Davao City and General Santos.

13. Kyiv faces blackouts after massive Russian strike

Kyiv: Ukraine on Friday said Russian forces had launched a “massive attack” on the capital Kyiv, causing power outages as Moscow struck at the national energy grid. “The capital of the country is under an enemy ballistic missile attack and a massive attack by the enemy strike drones,” the Ukrainian air force said, urging residents to remain in shelters.

14. Pakistan intensifies fight against TTP, kills 30 in major counter-terror sweep

Islamabad: Pakistan’s military has announced that 30 Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants were killed in a string of intelligence-based “retribution operations” in the Orakzai district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The militants were reportedly involved in an earlier ambush that left 11 soldiers dead, including a Lieutenant Colonel and a Major.

15. Indian nationals and over 50 entities sanctioned by US for aiding Iran’s energy exports

Washington: The United States has imposed sanctions on more than 50 entities, people, including two Indian nationals, and vessels for allegedly facilitating Iranian energy exports. The move targets “key elements” of Tehran’s “energy export machine”, according to an official statement. The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced the sanctions on Thursday.

16. White House slams Nobel Committee for brushing Trump after Machado win

Washington: The White House responded swiftly to the Nobel Committee’s decision, releasing a statement through Steven Cheung on social media. Cheung emphasised President Trump’s ongoing commitment to global peace, saying, “President Trump will continue making peace deals, ending wars, and saving lives. He has the heart of a humanitarian, and there will never be anyone like him who can move mountains with the sheer force of his will”. The statement concluded with a direct critique: “The Nobel Committee proved they place politics over peace”.

17. Israeli military says ceasefire agreement in Gaza has taken effect

Tel Aviv: A ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas for the Gaza Strip came into effect at noon local time, the Israeli military said Friday, adding that troops were withdrawing to agreed-upon deployment lines.
