Blinkit delivery partner turns lifesaver after suspicious rat poison order in Tamil Nadu

A routine late-night delivery turned into a life-saving intervention in Tamil Nadu after a Blinkit delivery partner refused to hand over three packets of rat poison to a distressed woman, acting purely on instinct and concern for her safety.
The rider, who later shared the encounter on Instagram, said he grew suspicious the moment he reached the customer’s home and saw her visibly emotional. What followed was a spontaneous act of empathy that has since earned him widespread praise online.
Late-night order raises alarms
According to the delivery partner, the order – placed unusually late at night – immediately felt off. When he arrived at the address, he found the woman in tears. In his Instagram post, he said:
“A total of three rat poisons. I don’t know what they were thinking when they ordered that. But seeing them crying so much, I thought they had some issue and ordered this. But once I reached the customer’s location, I couldn’t just deliver this order. She just kept crying. Then I went to her and told ‘No matter what problem you have, don’t commit suicide’ and asked ‘Did you order this because you want to commit suicide?’ She replied, ‘No, bro, that’s not the case.’ I said, ‘No, don’t lie. You just want to commit suicide. If you had a rat problem, you could have ordered it around seven o’clock, or even earlier. Maybe the next day. There is no reason for ordering it at this time.’ Later, I convinced her and cancelled the order. Today I feel that I’ve accomplished something.”
He returned the rat poison to the store and left only after ensuring the woman had calmed down.
Social media hails the rider’s quick thinking
After the incident was posted online, thousands of users applauded the delivery partner for choosing compassion over protocol.
“A robot would have delivered,” one user commented, highlighting the importance of human judgment in critical moments.
Another wrote, “Browsing suspicious websites on self-harm and ordering such items should immediately trigger a response from the police. This can be done.”
Many praised the rider’s emotional intelligence, with one user noting, “Delivery hero with emotional intelligence, rare combo.”
Another comment read, “That Blinkit delivery guy saw a person in need, not just an order. His choice to care first is a powerful reminder for all of us to look out for one another. It’s in these actions that real community is built.”
One more user said, “This is not a refusal of service, this is the presence of humanity. He delivered empathy instead of poison. Blinkit’s Algorithm said deliver, but his conscience said STOP. In a world obsessed with ratings, he chose responsibility. Sometimes the bravest thing is saying no. This is what real social responsibility looks like.”
Calls for recognition
Several users urged Blinkit to formally commend the delivery partner, tagging the company and asking that his actions be acknowledged and rewarded. As of now, the company has not issued a statement regarding the incident.
Meanwhile, the story continues to circulate widely, with many calling the rider a “real-life hero” for intervening at a critical moment and possibly preventing a tragedy.
