Student killed, at least 18 injured as Haryana Roadways bus collides with school bus

Charkhi Dadri (Haryana): An 11th-grade student was killed, and at least 18 others were injured after a Haryana Roadways bus collided head-on with a private school bus on the Dadri–Birohar Road near Bhagvi village on Tuesday.
The collision also left three teachers, the drivers and conductors of both buses, and several passengers injured. The injured were rushed to civil and private hospitals in the district, police said.
DSP Headquarters Dheeraj Kumar said the administration responded immediately after receiving information about the crash.
“We received information in the morning about an accident. Following this, the entire administration was put on alert. Ambulances were immediately dispatched, and all the injured were brought here and hospitalised for treatment...,” he said.
The father of the deceased student said his daughter was part of a school tour.
“My daughter had gone on a school tour. She left around 8:30 AM, and at about 9:30 AM, we received a message that an accident had occurred...,” he said.
Haryana Roadways General Manager Naveen Sharma said the cause of the accident would be determined after a probe.
“This is a matter under investigation, and only after that will it be known who is at fault and who is not,” he said. (With inputs from IANS)
