Truth can be troubled, but never defeated: Atishi Singh on Kejriwal's bail

New Delhi: AAP leader Atishi expressed her relief after the Supreme Court granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor policy corruption case.

Atishi took to X, writing, "Satyamev Jayate... Truth can be troubled, but not defeated."

The Supreme Court released Kejriwal on bail, setting a bond of Rs 10 lakh. The court made it clear that while there are no legal barriers to arresting a person already in custody for the purposes of investigation, bail was appropriate in this case.

Besides seeking bail, CM Kejriwal has filed a separate petition challenging his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the alleged liquor scam. He also questioned his subsequent remand, aiming for a full dismissal of the charges.

The decision to grant bail was delivered by a two-judge bench led by Justice Surya Kant. The case has attracted considerable attention due to its political and legal implications.
