'I fear CPM and BJP jointly send an Innova to finish me,' says Sandeep Varier during Panakkad visit
Panakkad: Paying a visit to the Panakkad family on Sunday after his Congress entry, former BJP spokesperson Sandeep Varier said he was fortunate enough to be seated along with Thangal at their ancestral home. He was responding to BJP state president K Surendran’s statement that Sandeep would get a "big chair" after joining the Congress. He said, "those who do not understand the value of the chair are the ones making such statements. What I have been given today is a big chair. If someone gets a seat to sit along with Thangal at their ancestral home, then it is indeed a very great thing," Sandeep said.
Criticising Minister M B Rajesh, Sandeep said, "I heard what Minister M B Rajesh said. In our country, food, clothing and language are personal freedoms. I believe that it is for the fight to protect these things that the secular forces should stand united. So is for politics as well. It is a personal choice. When someone makes that choice, why show intolerance? I fear that the CPM and the BJP would jointly send an Innova to kill me. If Rajesh would be driving the vehicle, then the one inside the vehicle giving the quotation to kill me would be Surendran."
He further said, "Both are raising the same accusations as if they are manufactured in the same factory. How can they make such accusations like Siamese twins? The people of Kerala, and the voters in Palakkad, are watching all of this."
From Ideology to Humanity
Regarding the accusation that he joined the Congress for an "offer," Sandeep responded, "If that’s the case, shouldn’t I go to those who are giving the offers? When I joined the Congress, the UDF did not hold power in Kerala, and the Congress did not hold power at the national level. I joined a party that is in the Opposition."
He added, "Having grown tired of working in the factory of hatred and animosity, I have left behind the ideology I once believed in and joined the side of UDF’s humanism. I have no intention of making personal attacks against anyone in the BJP. I don’t intend to go around Mararji Bhavan with a cane. Even if I beat them up, they won’t improve. Therefore, I will now focus on advancing the politics of the Congress," said Sandeep.
