The two musicians were spotted at Kolkata airport on Friday, October 9, a day before the CJP’s planned demonstration demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Their posts quickly went viral, with several social media users speculating that the singers were heading to the national capital to join the protest.

However, neither Islam nor Roy has publicly confirmed whether they plan to join the demonstration.

Rupam Islam, Anupam Roy’s posts fuel speculation

The two singers shared photographs and videos from Kolkata airport on their respective social media handles, accompanied by the caption “Delhi Chalo”. The posts prompted speculation among fans and other social media users about their possible involvement in the upcoming protest.

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has called on people across the country to gather at Jantar Mantar on October 10 to demand Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation.

The planned demonstration has drawn attention amid a wider political debate over the Election Commission's functioning and concerns about electoral processes.

Several political leaders, public figures and social media influencers have also been linked to the planned demonstration. Popular YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was among the prominent names associated with the protest.

CJP calls for protest at Jantar Mantar

The CJP had announced its protest plans at a press conference, urging people to travel to Delhi and join its campaign.

The demonstration is being organised around demands concerning electoral accountability and the protection of democratic rights.

The possibility of them joining the protest has generated interest among their followers, particularly after their airport posts surfaced online.

For now, their social media captions remain the only public indication of their travel plans. It remains unconfirmed whether the two musicians will participate in the CJP demonstration.
