Ruchika Singh back in viral video after apology in PM Modi abuse row: ‘I won’t back down’ | WATCH

Noida: Ruchika Singh, who drew national attention after being accused of using abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, has resurfaced in a new viral video and this time, the tone is markedly different from her earlier apology.
In the video now being widely shared on social media, a woman alleged to be the 15-year-old Ruchika is heard making fresh allegations against the Prime Minister and declaring that she will not back down.
“Modi ji, you have made my life hell. You have hounded a 15-year-old girl so much that she has been tortured everywhere. I have to hide my face everywhere,” she is allegedly heard saying.
The woman further claims that she has “nothing to lose” and would not back down, before allegedly calling Prime Minister Modi a “coward”.
The authenticity of the video, however, has not been independently verified by Mathrubhumi English. Its recording date, origin and the identity of the woman seen in the clip remain unclear. The statements made in the video should therefore be treated as alleged claims.
The latest clip has quickly triggered fresh debate online, with social media users divided over Ruchika's alleged return.
Some users expressed support for her. “Ruchika don't worry we stand with you,” one user commented on the video.
Another wrote, “Like seriously she has guts to come live again.”
What was the Ruchika Singh-Jantar Mantar controversy?
Ruchika Singh's name first emerged in connection with allegations that offensive language was used against Prime Minister Modi during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on July 23.
A complaint was subsequently filed, following which Noida Police registered a Zero FIR on July 29. The case was later transferred to Delhi Police.
The controversy then took another turn when questions were raised about Ruchika's age. Initial complaints and reports described her as 25. However, in a subsequent viral apology video, she identified herself as a 15-year-old minor.
In the apology, Ruchika said she had attended the protest with friends and claimed that she had been influenced by the people and atmosphere around her when she made the remarks.
The complainant later said information regarding her identity and age had been sourced from social media comments and had not been personally verified.
Amid the row, Prime Minister Modi appealed for a lenient approach towards young people. Ruchika's apology video followed. Reports later indicated that police were considering her claim of being a minor while deciding on further action.
Subsequent reports said the complaint had been withdrawn and the case would not be pursued further.
The new viral video has now brought Ruchika Singh back into public attention, reviving a controversy that appeared to have settled after her apology.
