RG Kar medical college student found dead at her home in Kolkata

Kolkata: A medical student from Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital was allegedly found hanging in her room at the ESI quarters in Kamarhati, according to The Times of India.

Citing police sources, the report suggested that she may have been struggling with depression. The incident came to light when her mother, unable to reach her despite multiple attempts, went to her room in the hospital quarters. However, no suicide note was found. The Police have launched probe into the incident. 

The incident came barely days after a trial court on January 20 sentenced Sanjay Roy, the lone convict in the brutal rape and murder of a post-graduate trainee at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, to life imprisonment till death in the rape-murder case.
