'Forces are above all': Rajnath Singh slams Rahul Gandhi for demanding defence quota

Jamui: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of attempting to create anarchy in India by demanding reservations in the armed forces. Singh said, “What happened to Rahul ji? He is raising the issue of reservations in the defence forces. He is simply trying to create anarchy in the country by demanding reservation in the defence forces…our forces are above all these."

Speaking at a rally in Bihar’s Jamui district, Singh criticised Gandhi's demand, saying the armed forces stand above such issues and emphasised that "running the country is not a game for children." He also mocked Gandhi’s recent public fishing event in Bihar, implying he has "no option left but to jump into a pond."

Singh slammed Gandhi for accusing the Election Commission of "vote chori" (vote theft), calling it baseless and accusing him of targeting constitutional bodies. He praised the armed forces for the success of Operation Sindoor, a retaliation after the Pahalgam terror attack, warning that India would respond strongly to future provocations.

Addressing another rally in Banka, Singh highlighted there was no corruption case against Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and asserted that the NDA is popular, expecting to form the next government with a strong majority. He accused the RJD of corruption and threatening people with unlicensed guns ("katta"). Singh claimed the NDA promotes inclusive development without discrimination and emphasised their commitment to fulfilling promises with the phrase, "'Pran jaye par vachan na jaye'."
