Indian Embassy Doha update: 7,750 nationals return on 25 Qatar Airways flights

The Indian Embassy in Doha has said that Qatar Airways operated 25 flights to India between March 20 and 22, carrying around 7,750 Indian nationals in the middle of the ongoing regional tensions in the Gulf.
The Embassy noted that the airline has resumed services in a phased manner and advised passengers to book tickets through official channels, including the airline’s website, mobile application, or authorised travel agents.
In an advisory issued to Indian nationals in Qatar, the Embassy urged the community to strictly follow all instructions issued by local authorities.
It highlighted that Qatari authorities have stressed the importance of adhering to safety and security guidelines, particularly in workplaces and public spaces. Following these instructions, the advisory said, is essential to ensure safety within buildings and during any emergency situations.
With educational institutions in Qatar gradually resuming physical classes, the Embassy has also issued specific guidance for students and parents.
It requested that schools and families follow established emergency response procedures, including “shelter-in-place” measures within school premises if required. These precautions are aimed at ensuring the safety of students amid the evolving situation in the region.
The Embassy also addressed concerns of Indian students preparing for competitive exams such as JEE and NEET. It said that the Indian Ambassador recently met a group of parents whose children are scheduled to appear for these examinations. The Embassy confirmed that it is in close coordination with the National Testing Agency to ensure that students receive timely updates and necessary support.
To assist Indian nationals, the Embassy continues to operate a dedicated control room along with helplines, email, and WhatsApp services. These channels are available to address queries and provide assistance to members of the Indian community in Qatar.
The advisory comes as tensions in the Gulf region continue, with authorities maintaining a high level of alert. The Embassy has assured that it will keep the Indian community informed of any further developments.
