Chennai: During his visits to Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed multiple public gatherings ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. In Tamil Nadu, he criticised the state government led by the DMK, using the acronym “CMC” to describe what he called corruption, mafia, and crime in the administration. Modi claimed that despite the DMK receiving a full majority twice, promises made to the public were not fulfilled.

In Thiruvananthapuram, Modi promised that if the BJP comes to power, the Sabarimala gold loss would be investigated and those responsible held accountable. He launched several development projects and inaugurated new train services. Modi also met seers associated with the Sivagiri Mutt, commending their work in education, social service, and community welfare.
