Delhi: Marking a pivotal moment in the BJP campaign for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted the AAP government, launching the slogan ‘AAPda Jaayegi, Bhajpa Aayegi’ to underscore the ruling party’s failures and pledge a fresh direction for the national capital under BJP leadership.

Addressing a large crowd, PM Modi reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Delhi, particularly on the crucial issue of housing. “Modi’s guarantee means a guarantee of fulfilling the guarantee. For me, you all are Modi. So ask the AAPda for me what they did for you for the past five years,” he said, sending a clear message that under BJP’s rule, every Delhiite will have a home. “While AAP has failed to deliver basic needs like clean water and housing, we will ensure that every citizen has a roof over their head. No one will be left behind,” he promised.

PM Modi’s words resonated deeply with the crowd as he continued to criticise the AAP government for its failure to address the union territory’s most pressing issues, such as polluted Yamuna and the “dire” state of public services. “The people of Delhi know that only BJP can bring about the change they need,” he said, emphasising that BJP’s focus is on the welfare of the people, not on politics.

Meanwhile, the ‘AAPda Jaayegi, Bhajpa Aayegi’ slogan quickly became a rallying cry for BJP supporters, encapsulating the party’s vision for a better Delhi. PM Modi also launched a scathing attack on Congress, accusing it along with the AAP of failing the people of Delhi, and prioritising their political interests over the welfare of the public.

With elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly scheduled for February 5 and votes to be counted on February 8, AAP is aiming for a third consecutive term in office, while the BJP is seeking to reclaim power in the national capital for the first time since 1998.
