Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his blessings to the newly-wed couple Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant following their lavish wedding ceremony, which drew global celebrities, business magnates, and political figures.

Modi graced the reception, dubbed 'Shubh Aashirwad', held at the Jio World Convention Centre owned by the Ambani family. Anant, the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, Asia's wealthiest individual, along with Radhika, a pharmaceutical heiress, sought Modi's blessings by touching his feet.

Welcomed by Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, Modi joined a gathering that included a constellation of celebrities, film stars, cricketers, and prominent business leaders and politicians. The wedding, culminating months of pre-celebrations in India and abroad, was followed by a reception that mirrored the guest list of the previous day's nuptials.

Among the notable attendees were Bollywood luminaries such as Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Ranbir Kapoor, alongside cricketing legends Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav. Former British Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Boris Johnson, as well as Saudi Aramco CEO Amin H Nasser, graced the occasion with their presence.

Political figures included Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, with deputies Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and his wife Dimple, and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray.

Anant Ambani, 29, oversees Reliance Industries Ltd's renewable energy ventures, while Radhika Merchant, also 29, contributes as the marketing director at Encore Healthcare, her father Viren Merchant's pharmaceutical firm. PTI
