Pahalgam terror attack: Tourist’s viral zipline video captures chaos, gunfire | VIDEO

New Delhi: A tourist on a zipline ride during a trip to Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, inadvertently recorded the devastating terrorist attack that killed 26 civilians, according to a new video that has emerged on social media.
In the 53-second video, which has since gone viral, the tourist – a man wearing a blue checked shirt, sunglasses, and a helmet as part of his safety gear – can be seen recording his ride using a selfie stick. In the background, the sounds of gunfire are clearly audible.
Unaware of the terror attack unfolding around him, the man continues to enjoy his ride, smiling for the camera, while panic ensues on the ground as other tourists run for cover.
As the zipline ride ends and the man approaches the ground, another tourist is seen collapsing, presumably after being struck by a bullet.
The brutal attack on April 22 at Baisaran – popularly referred to as 'Mini Switzerland' for its lush meadow landscapes – claimed the lives of 25 tourists, including 24 Indians and one Nepali citizen, along with a local resident. An Indian Navy officer and an Intelligence Bureau personnel were also among those killed.
It was the deadliest terror strike in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama attack. The Resistance Front, a proxy group of the banned Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), claimed responsibility for the assault.
In response to the attack, India downgraded diplomatic ties with Pakistan and announced a series of measures, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 and the revocation of visa services for Pakistani nationals.
In retaliation, Pakistan announced its own countermeasures, including the closure of its airspace to Indian airlines. Islamabad also warned that any attempt to divert water meant for Pakistan under the treaty would be considered an "Act of War".
