Months after India’s precision strikes on nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), a viral video of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Qaasim has surfaced. The footage directly contradicts Islamabad’s denials by confirming the destruction of the Markaz Taiba camp in Muridke, Punjab province.

Standing amid the rubble, Qaasim admitted the facility had trained numerous terrorists, including “Mujahideens and Talaba,” and vowed to rebuild a larger centre.

“I am standing in front of the Markaz Taiba in Muridke... It was destroyed in the attack [during Operation Sindoor]. We will be rebuilding it and making it even bigger... From here, big names in Mujahideen got trained here and achieved Faiz [Victory],” he declared in the clip.

Masood Azhar’s family casualties revealed

Days earlier, another viral video featured Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) commander Masood Ilyas Kashmiri admitting that the strikes on Markaz Subhan Allah at Bahawalpur, JeM’s operational headquarters, had killed the family of JeM chief Masood Azhar.

“After sacrificing everything, on May 7, the family members of Masood Azhar were torn into pieces in Bahawalpur,” Kashmiri said, validating India’s claim that the attack had hit key terrorist elements.

In May, sources had confirmed that Mohammad Yusuf Azhar and Hafiz Muhammed Jameel, brothers-in-law of Masood Azhar, were among those killed.

Mohammad Yusuf Azhar, wanted in the IC-814 hijacking case, handled weapons training for JeM and was involved in multiple attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.

Hafiz Muhammed Jameel, eldest brother-in-law of Masood Azhar, managed Markaz Subhan Allah and was responsible for radical indoctrination of youth and fundraising for JeM.

Terror training details exposed

In another clip, LeT commander Qaasim urged youths to join the Daura-e-Suffa programme at Muridke, which imparts combat training and jihadi indoctrination.

Established in 2000, Markaz Taiba is LeT’s most crucial training hub, housing arms facilities, physical training, dawa’h and radicalisation units for recruits from Pakistan and abroad.

Markaz Subhan Allah, operational since 2015 in Bahawalpur, serves as JeM’s operational headquarters, linked to multiple terror plots, including the February 14, 2019 Pulwama attack.

Operation Sindoor strikes

The precision strikes on May 7 under Operation Sindoor specifically targeted these strongholds of LeT and JeM. The operation was carried out in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives.
