Shashi Tharoor shares video of Kerala-version of Dandiya for Navaratri

Thiruvananthapuram: Amidst the Navaratri celebrations, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has shared a dance video on micro blogging platform X. Through the video, he intends to introduce the Kerala-version of Dandiya to Gujarati women. In the video posted on X, a group of saree clad Kerala women could be seen dancing on the roads, holding sticks in their hands, similar to the popular Garba dance
“Attention Gujarati sisters! This Navaratri, check out Dandiya Kerala style,” the Congress MP wrote on X on Monday, sharing the dance video.
Navaratri is a nine-day-long Hindu festival. In the state of Gujarat, Garba dance is an essential part of the Navaratri celebrations. Women dressed in colourful attires could be seen dancing to different tunes holding sticks in their hands during the Navaratri days, the performances are a visual treat, and sets the tone for the auspicious Hindu festival.
