Noida International Airport to be renamed after PM Narendra Modi, Yogi Adityanath announces

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Friday that the Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, will be renamed Narendra Modi International Airport. The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the proposal.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the airport on March 28, 2026. The airport received its first flight on June 15, when an IndiGo aircraft arrived from Lucknow.
Designed as a multimodal transport hub, the airport integrates air connectivity with road and other modes of transport.
The facility aims to provide modern passenger amenities, strengthen regional connectivity, and support economic growth.
The airport's infrastructure incorporates advanced safety and operational systems.
Its single runway has an Instrument Landing System (ILS) at both ends, allowing aircraft to approach from either direction, depending on wind conditions.
The renaming marks a significant development for the airport, which is expected to play an important role in improving connectivity to the National Capital Region and supporting Uttar Pradesh's aviation infrastructure.
