NEET-PG 2025 exam conducted across 301 cities; Over 2.42 Lakh candidates appear

New Delhi: More than 2,42,000 candidates took the NEET-PG exam on Sunday, conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) for admission into various postgraduate medical courses.
The exam was held in a single shift on a computer-based platform across 301 cities and 1,052 test centres, according to official sources. This marks the largest single-shift computer-based exam in India by the number of participants.
To ensure strict adherence to exam rules, NBEMS enlisted over 2,200 faculty members from medical colleges and accredited hospitals to maintain zero tolerance for unfair means.
NBEMS also coordinated with chief secretaries and Directors General of Police from all states to guarantee adequate law and order, cyber security and uninterrupted power supply at all test locations. Support was sought from district administrations and local police forces.
To combat cyber fraud, NBEMS collaborated with the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs. Approximately 300 cyber commandos were deployed, especially at sensitive centres, to prevent cheating.
In addition, NBEMS monitored live CCTV footage from all exam centres in real time using over 200 personnel stationed at its headquarters.
Senior faculty members, deans, directors of medical colleges and NBEMS governing body members conducted surprise visits as part of flying squads to various test sites.
Mobile signals were blocked at all centres using an adequate number of signal jammers to prevent communication during the exam.
The NEET-PG exam facilitates admission to postgraduate medical courses such as MD, MS and PG diploma programs.
