Mumbai to get its own Disneyland? Here’s what you need to know

Mumbai: Navi Mumbai is set to become home to a Disneyland-inspired amusement park, an ambitious project led by the Maharashtra government in collaboration with Niti Aayog. This large-scale entertainment hub is expected to attract visitors from both domestic and international markets.
According to reports, the theme park will be built across 200 hectares, making it one of the largest amusement parks in India. The park will offer a wide array of attractions, including entertainment zones, water parks, resorts, and animation studios, ensuring a complete entertainment experience for visitors of all ages.
The Maharashtra government is providing financial incentives to attract private investors, further boosting the project’s viability. The estimated cost of the park is projected to be between USD 6-7 billion.

Experts believe the theme park will bring significant economic advantages to the region, creating thousands of jobs in industries such as hospitality, construction, and entertainment. Project timeline and land allocation
Land allocation for the project by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) is anticipated to be completed by 2025-26. Following this, a bidding process for private investors is scheduled to begin in 2026-27. The construction of the amusement park will proceed in phases, with major attractions expected to open by 2030.

The location for the amusement park has been strategically chosen in Navi Mumbai. The park will also benefit from its proximity to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport, ensuring easy access for both domestic and international visitors.
