4 dead, 6 seriously injured in violent car-SUV wreck in Mahrashtra’s Nashik

Nashik: Four individuals, including three residents of Rajasthan, were killed and six others injured on Wednesday afternoon following a violent head-on collision between two vehicles in Maharashtra’s Nashik district, police reported.

The crash occurred at approximately 3 p.m. on a national highway near the Chachadgaon toll plaza in Dindori taluka. According to investigators, a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga travelling from Nashik toward Peth collided with a Mahindra Scorpio SUV approaching from the opposite direction.

The impact was fatal for three passengers in the SUV, identified as Chogalal Hiralal Gurjar, 75; Kishanlal Hiralal Gurjar, 45; and Poonam Gurjar, 40. All three victims hailed from Devgarh in the Rajsamand district of Rajasthan. The driver of the Ertiga, 28-year-old Shahrukh Khan Farakat Khan of Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, was also killed in the wreck.

Six other people sustained various injuries and were rushed to the Nashik District Hospital and a nearby private facility for emergency treatment. Authorities noted that both vehicles were severely mangled in the collision, which briefly disrupted traffic on the highway as recovery teams worked to clear the wreckage.
