Bomb threat at Mysuru District Court: Premises evacuated after threat email

Mysuru: Authorities evacuated the Mysuru District Court on Tuesday morning following a bomb threat received via email, leading to the temporary suspension of judicial proceedings.
Local police reported that the email arrived in the early hours, prompting a rapid response to secure the legal complex. Judicial officers, attorneys, litigants, and administrative staff were directed to vacate the premises as a precautionary measure while security teams cordoned off the area.
A senior police official confirmed that a bomb disposal squad and sniffer dog units were deployed to the site. "A thorough search of the entire court complex is currently underway," the officer said, adding that investigators are working to trace the origin of the electronic communication.
The threat caused major disruption to the day’s scheduled hearings, with many cases adjourned as the search continued into the afternoon. While security alerts at government installations in the region have increased in recent months, officials said they are treating the matter with "utmost seriousness" until an "all-clear" is issued.
