Salman Khan firing case: Mumbai police begins extradition process for Lawrence Bishnoi's brother

Mumbai: The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police has begun the process to extradite Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Anmol is wanted in connection with a shooting incident that took place outside actor Salman Khan's house.
A senior police official announced on Saturday that the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court has issued a non-bailable warrant for Anmol's arrest. Additionally, a red corner notice has been issued to locate him internationally.
"Waiting for certain court documents to complete the formalities, after which a formal proposal will be sent to the central government for further action," the Mumbai Police officials said. This notice is a request from a member country of Interpol to help track down and arrest a wanted criminal.
According to the Crime Branch, in order to formalise the extradition, they need certified copies of court documents alongside the warrant. "The special MCOCA court approved his Crime Branch application on October 16 and the police is expected to get the documents soon. For further action, Mumbai Crime Branch has sent an application to the Central Government for extradition of Anmol Bishnoi," they stated.
On October 25, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) offered a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to Anmol Bishnoi's arrest. He faces charges in two NIA cases filed in 2022 and is also linked to the shooting incident outside Salman Khan's residence earlier this year.
Authorities are encouraging anyone with information about Anmol Bishnoi's location to step forward. He is known to be involved in various criminal activities and is considered an important figure in organised crime.
The NIA has intensified its efforts to find Anmol, urging the public to provide any information that could assist in his capture.
