A bizarre and amusing incident aboard an Indian train has gone viral, sparking both laughter and concern online. A video circulating on Instagram shows a man who ingeniously — or irresponsibly — turned a train washroom into his personal bedroom.

The now-viral clip, shared by content creator Vishal, has already racked up over 780,000 views. Recorded from a railway platform, the footage captures the man lying comfortably inside the train’s toilet cubicle, surrounded by his belongings.

Through the washroom window, he can even be seen holding a folded woven bed — turning the cramped space into a makeshift cabin.

In the video, Vishal can be heard exclaiming in Hindi, “Bhai ne washroom ko bedroom bana diya!” (Brother has turned the washroom into a bedroom). When asked if the visible pile of items belonged to him, the man casually replies, “Haan” (Yes), confirming that he has quite literally moved in. Vishal captioned the post aptly: “Train washroom bana diya bedroom.”

The internet’s response has been split — while some viewers found humour in the man’s ingenuity, others called out the blatant disregard for public hygiene and shared spaces. One user joked, “He’s enjoying the journey while others are struggling to stand,” while another warned, “Authorities will definitely ask him to get off at the next station.”

The incident has reignited debate about the state of India’s trains, space crunch during travel, and passengers’ growing indifference towards public property. Railway authorities are yet to comment on the viral video, but it’s certainly left viewers questioning where to draw the line between creativity and chaos.
