Vande Bharat horror: Man fatally struck by train while spitting tobacco | VIDEO
A man has died after being hit by the incoming Patna–Howrah Vande Bharat Express at Barh railway station in Bihar’s Danapur division of the East Central Railway (ECR) on Tuesday morning.
According to Danapur RPF Commandant Uday Singh Pawar, the incident occurred at around 9am on platform number 2. The victim had reportedly moved close to the platform edge to spit after chewing tobacco when the semi-high-speed train arrived and struck him.
The impact caused the man to fall onto the platform, leaving him with severe head injuries.
Bakhtiyarpur RPF Inspector Jawhar Lall said personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) reached the spot promptly and rushed the injured man to Barh Sadar Hospital. However, he later succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The identity of the deceased had not been established at the time of reporting.

GRP officials at Barh have registered a case of unnatural death and begun an investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

Railway authorities in the Danapur division, along with the RPF, have urged passengers to maintain a safe distance from the platform edge, particularly during the arrival and departure of semi-high-speed trains, to prevent such incidents.
