‘If you attack me, I will shake the whole of India’: Mamata Banerjee’s bold rally in Bongaon | WATCH

Bongaon: West Bengal Chief Minister and AITC Chairperson Mamata Banerjee delivered a fiery public address in Bongaon on Monday, warning that she would extend her political fight across the country after the elections.
“If you attack me, I will shake the whole of India. After the elections, I will travel across the entire country,” she declared, asserting herself as a national force ready to challenge the BJP-led Centre beyond Bengal.
Mamata predicts BJP loss in Gujarat, warns of 2029 shake-up
During the rally, Mamata made a bold electoral prediction, asserting that the BJP will lose Gujarat in the upcoming elections despite its attempts to hold on to power. She criticised the Centre’s allegations of infiltration against the Bengal government, emphasising that border security falls under the Centre’s jurisdiction.
She told the crowd, "Border security falls under the jurisdiction of the Centre. So how are we being accused of facilitating infiltration unless you were complicit? You tried the same trick in Bihar, but that will not be possible here. We have always unmasked your conspiracies. In the upcoming elections, the BJP will lose Gujarat. You may try your hardest to win Bengal, but you will lose Gujarat."
Mamata predicted that 2029 would be “very dangerous” for the BJP, claiming the party would no longer remain in power.
Responding to linguistic attacks, Mamata defends Bengali identity
Addressing jibes about her Bengali accent and education, Mamata Banerjee framed the criticism as an attempt to belittle Bengal’s cultural roots. She reminded supporters of her global achievements, including delivering speeches at Oxford University and the United Nations General Assembly.
"Where you study is not your identity. Being a human is your identity. Even after studying in Bengali, I delivered speeches at Oxford University and at the United Nations General Assembly" she said, turning the criticism into a broader defence of dignity, identity, and pride.
Helicopter sabotage backfires
Mamata began her Bongaon visit expecting to travel by helicopter, but the flight was suddenly cancelled, which she described as a deliberate attempt to obstruct her movement even before the election season formally began.
However, the road journey turned into a massive public spectacle, drawing crowds far larger than a single landing could have managed. The incident inadvertently boosted her visibility and engagement.
Massive public connect in the heart of Matua land
Mamata’s road journey from Chandpara Patpotti More to Dhakuria High School More drew massive crowds, highlighting her direct engagement with people. Along the 3-km walk, she stopped to console residents, lifted children onto her lap, spoke to the elderly, and accepted flowers and gamchhas from locals.
Message to BJP: Fear won’t stop me
Mamata positioned the BJP’s alleged interference as fear-driven, framing herself as an uncompromising leader of Nari Shakti. Her message was clear: attempts to obstruct her will only energise her supporters. By leveraging decades of grassroots experience, she signalled that the road and the people remain firmly with her, reinforcing her narrative of public trust over political manoeuvres.
