Mahua Moitra alleges harassment by group of men aboard IndiGo flight to Delhi | VIDEO

New Delhi: Mahua Moitra on Thursday alleged that she was harassed by a group of men aboard an IndiGo flight while travelling to Delhi to attend a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence.
In a series of posts on social media platform X, the Trinamool Congress MP said the incident occurred on IndiGo flight 6E 719, where she was seated in the front row of the aircraft.
Moitra claimed that a group of four to six men boarded the flight and “leered” at her before moving towards the rear of the plane. She further alleged that after landing, and before the aircraft doors were opened, the men heckled her and recorded videos of the encounter.
Describing the episode as harassment rather than “citizen anger”, Moitra said the incident compromised her safety onboard the aircraft.
“There is no way these louts can get away with this harassment inside an aeroplane,” she wrote, while tagging the airline and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu.
The MP urged the airline to review the crew report, identify those involved and place them on a no-fly list.
In a separate post, Moitra alleged that the incident reflected the “culture” of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
She later said she had initially ignored the episode and proceeded directly from the airport to her committee meeting, but decided to speak publicly after videos of the incident were circulated online.
Moitra added that she intended to submit a formal complaint to the airline.
There was no immediate response from IndiGo or the civil aviation ministry regarding the allegations.
