Kullu: Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh witnessed a landslide triggered by heavy monsoon rains, which caused damage to an under-construction building. The incident adds to the series of floods and landslide disruptions that have plagued the region during the ongoing 2025 monsoon season.

Prior to the landslide, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a red alert warning for the area due to the threat of flash floods and extremely heavy rainfall. These warnings were part of broader advisories covering several districts in Himachal Pradesh, including Mandi, Chamba, Kangra, and Una, which faced similar risks of flooding and landslips.

The relentless rains led to widespread damage across the hill state, including blocked roads, power outages, and water supply disruptions. Kullu and neighbouring areas have experienced severe infrastructural challenges, further complicated by the difficult terrain and continuing inclement weather. Authorities have been conducting rescue and relief operations, attempting to restore connectivity and supply services amid the chaos.
