What does BJP’s 'Sankalp Patra' offer for Jharkhand elections?

Ranchi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday released the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Sankalp Patra (manifesto) for the upcoming Jharkhand elections, outlining 150 commitments in tribute to Lord Birsa Munda on his 150th birth anniversary.

Key promises include a monthly assistance of Rs 2,100 for women under the 'Gogo Didi Scheme', 300 units of free electricity, Rs 500 gas cylinders, and a Rs 2,000 monthly allowance for unemployed graduates and postgraduates under the 'Yuva Sathi Yojana.'

Shah highlighted the BJP’s track record of fulfilling its promises, stating, “Unlike other parties, we take resolutions and turn them into reality. Under PM Modi's leadership, we are committed to protecting Jharkhand’s ‘Roti, Maati, Beti’ (livelihood, land, daughters) and ensuring development.”

Criticizing the Hemant Soren administration, Shah alleged that despite receiving over Rs 1.5 lakh crore from the Centre, the state government has been embroiled in corruption instead of delivering services to the people.

“The state deserves better than misrule. The BJP stands for Jharkhand’s development,” he said.

The manifesto also includes a proposal to implement a Uniform Civil Code, with exemptions for Jharkhand’s tribal communities.

Key announcements:

1. Job Creation: Fill 1.5 lakh government positions in the first year and provide 2.87 lakh jobs over five years. Five lakh youth to gain employment in five years.
   
2. Anti-Corruption: Enforce stricter anti-corruption measures, including CBI investigations into past exam paper leaks.

3. Land Rights: Restore tribal lands that were taken unlawfully.

4. Women Empowerment: Property registrations up to Rs 50 lakh in women’s names for just one rupee.

5. Support for Agniveers: Government jobs for Agniveers.

6. Housing: Permanent housing for the poor within five years, including 21 lakh homes under the PM Awas Yojana.

7. Gas Subsidy: Rs 500 gas cylinders, with two free cylinders provided during Diwali and Raksha Bandhan.

8. Solar Power: Connect 1.25 crore homes to solar power.

9. Healthcare: Free dialysis services for kidney patients and Ayushman Yojana coverage for all tribal families.

10. Financial Assistance: Rs 2,100 per month for women under the Gogo Didi Scheme.

12. Rehabilitation Support: Establish a commission for rehabilitation efforts.
