Karnataka SIR 2026: Step-by-step guide to filling forms, finding BLO and checking voter details

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka began on June 30, with the Election Commission of India (ECI) launching a comprehensive voter verification exercise. Unlike the annual Special Summary Revision (SSR), which only requires participation from those seeking additions, corrections, or deletions, the SIR requires every existing voter to undergo fresh verification.
The exercise aims to ensure electoral rolls remain accurate by removing duplicate, deceased, and migrated voters while making sure no eligible citizen is left out.
The verification is carried out through an Enumeration Form (EF), which voters can submit either physically through their Booth Level Officer (BLO) or online via the ECI portal.
How to fill the Enumeration Form
- Every household will receive two partially filled Enumeration Forms from the Booth Level Officer (BLO).
- Voters can either fill the physical form, which the BLO will collect later, or submit it online through the ECI portal.
- The form already includes details such as the voter's name, EPIC number, address, serial number, Assembly Constituency (AC), Parliamentary Constituency (PC), photograph, and QR code.
- Voters only need to fill in the remaining required information.
- Those who were on the 2002 electoral rolls must enter their 2002 voter details through the self-mapping process.
- Those who were not eligible voters in 2002 must provide the 2002 electoral details of a parent or grandparent through progeny mapping.
- Mandatory details include the date of birth, parents' names, and mobile number.
- Aadhaar number and family members' EPIC numbers are optional.
Do you need to submit documents?
No supporting documents are required while submitting the Enumeration Form. Documents will only be sought if the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) later raises doubts about a voter's eligibility after the draft electoral roll is published.
How to submit the form online
- Link your mobile number to your EPIC (Voter ID) using Form 8 before starting the online process.
- Once your mobile number is registered, visit the ECI portal and log in using your mobile number and OTP.
- Open the pre-filled Enumeration Form and verify the details already available.
- Complete the remaining sections using the self-mapping or progeny mapping process, as applicable.
- Review the information carefully and submit the form online.
- Mobile number registration may take five to seven days, while name corrections can take more than two weeks.
- Voters planning to complete the process online should begin the registration and correction process as early as possible.
Finding your voter details and BLO
- Visit the Election Commission's Citizen Service Portal to search your voter details.
- You can search using your EPIC number, personal details, or registered mobile number.
- The portal will display your EPIC number, part number, and serial number required for the SIR process.
- You can also view the contact details of your Booth Level Officer (BLO), Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), and District Election Officer (DEO).
- Similar information is available on the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Karnataka website by entering your district, Assembly Constituency, and part number.
If you cannot find 2002 records
- If you cannot find your own or your parents' details in the 2002 electoral rolls, you can use the verified records of any maternal or paternal relative for progeny mapping.
- If no eligible family member's 2002 record is available, you will be treated as a new voter.
- You must still submit the Enumeration Form.
- The Election Commission will then issue a notice asking you to submit Form 6.
- During the claims and objections period (August 5 to September 4), you must submit Form 6 along with the required declaration and supporting documents.
- Those submitting forms online receive a digital acknowledgement, while physical submissions are acknowledged by the BLO on the duplicate copy returned to the voter.
First-time voters who turned 18 in 2026 and applied for voter registration before enrolment closed will not receive an Enumeration Form because the current SIR only covers voters included in the 2025 electoral roll.
They may have to wait for the claims and objections period to submit Form 6 for enrolment.
