Double earthquake hits India: 5.2 magnitude shakes Kargil, 4.0 magnitude hits Arunachal

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck Kargil, Ladakh, early on Friday, sending tremors across the region, including Jammu and Kashmir. The earthquake, which occurred at 2:50 am, was recorded at a depth of 15 kilometers, according to the National Center for Seismology.
The seismic activity was reported with the following details: “EQ of M: 5.2, On: 14/03/2025 02:50:05 IST, Lat: 33.37 N, Long: 76.76 E, Depth: 15 Km, Location: Kargil, Ladakh,” as stated in a post on X by the National Center for Seismology.
Later, another earthquake of magnitude 4.0 was reported in Arunachal Pradesh. The tremor, which struck at 6:01 am, was centered in West Kameng at a depth of 10 kilometers. The earthquake's details were shared as follows: “EQ of M: 4.0, On: 14/03/2025 06:01:28 IST, Lat: 27.26 N, Long: 92.27 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: West Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh.”
Authorities are monitoring the situation, but no immediate damage or casualties have been reported from either earthquake so far.
