New Delhi: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has officially refuted claims circulating on social media regarding changes in Tatkal and Premium Tatkal ticket booking timings. In a statement released recently, the IRCTC confirmed that there has been no alteration in the existing ticket booking schedule, dismissing viral reports that suggested new timings would come into effect from April 15.

“Some posts are circulating on social media channels mentioning different timings for Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets. No such change in timings is currently proposed in the Tatkal or Premium Tatkal booking timings for AC or Non-AC classes,” said the IRCTC in a press release.

The clarification comes in response to misleading messages shared widely online, which claimed that the booking timings had been altered for both passengers and agents.

IRCTC also confirmed that the booking timings for agents remain unchanged.

The current Tatkal booking timings are:
AC Classes (2A/3A/CC/EC/3E):
Booking opens at 10:00 am, one day prior to the journey (excluding the date of travel from the originating station).
Non-AC Classes (SL/FC/2S): Booking opens at 11:00 am, one day prior.
First AC: Tatkal booking is not permitted in this class

IRCTC emphasised that Tatkal e-tickets can be booked for select trains only and encouraged users to rely on verified sources such as the official IRCTC website or app for accurate information.
