IndiGo to launch daily flights between Thiruvananthapuram and Male from October 26

IndiGo has announced the launch of direct flights connecting Thiruvananthapuram with Male, the Maldives, starting October 26, 2025. The airline will operate daily services on this route, making Thiruvananthapuram the fourth Indian city to have direct air connectivity with Male, alongside Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kochi.

The new flights will be operated using IndiGo’s ATR aircraft, ensuring an affordable and reliable travel experience for passengers on this short-haul route. With convenient departure and arrival timings, as well as daily frequency, the service aims to provide seamless connectivity for both leisure and business travellers between India and the Maldives.

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Sales at IndiGo, said, “We are pleased to announce daily flights between Thiruvananthapuram and Malé, enhancing access to the recently expanded Velana International Airport.

With this new service, IndiGo will operate a total of 28 weekly flights to the Maldives from four Indian cities. India remains a key source of tourists for the Maldives, and with growing business engagements between the two countries, this new route will further strengthen connectivity and bilateral relations.”

The launch of this route comes at a time of deepening India-Maldives ties, as both nations continue discussions to enhance trade and investment opportunities.

India remains one of the largest tourism source markets for the Maldives, creating strong demand for better air connectivity. IndiGo’s Thiruvananthapuram–Malé flights are expected to support not only tourism but also business travel, while contributing to regional economic growth.
